What do you need to do to extend your stay in Belgium?
Why do you need to renew your residence card?
You have an electronic type A foreign nationals card. This card expires on 4 March 2024. The European Council decided to extend temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine until 4 March 2025.
So you can legally reside in Belgium even after 4 March 2024. You must, however, extend your stay yourself. You can do this by applying for a new type A electronic foreign nationals card. The new card is valid until 4 March 2025.
When should you apply for a new card?
- Apply for your new card as soon as possible.
- Do so before 4 March 2024, the date when your card expires.
Please note: You are responsible for requesting your new card in good time.
How do you apply for a new card?
Make an appointment for you and your family members at Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan (the temporary Ukraine office Unolaan), Unolaan, 2100 Deurne, on antwerpen.mijnafspraakmaken.be.
Please note:
- From 3 January 2024, Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan will open at a new location: Unolaan, 2100 Deurne. Please follow the signs. The Administrative Reception at Den Bell is closed.
- It is best to come by public transport. There is not much parking space near Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan.
- You can only make an appointment online.
- Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan will not help you without an appointment.
Who must be present at the appointment?
- All persons for whom you apply for a new type A electronic foreign nationals card.
- Also children with their parent(s) or guardian(s).
What should you bring to your appointment?
- your electronic type A foreign nationals card
Has your card been lost or stolen? Please bring the declaration form you received from the police. - your bank card or banking app on your smartphone
Only electronic payments are accepted. - A passport photo no more than 6 months old

Don’t have a passport photo? Take a digital passport photo at Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan. Please come to your appointment 15 minutes early to take the photos.
Price
- Are you aged 18 or older? You will need to pay 74.60 euros.
- Are you between the ages of 12 and 17? You will need to pay 25.10 euros.
Do you have children under the age of 12?
Children under the age of 12 should not apply for a Type A electronic foreign nationals card. They can, however, extend their non-Belgian kids-ID.
What is the procedure for renewing the non-Belgian kids-ID?
Make an appointment for your child at Tijdelijk loket Oekraïne Unolaan (the temporary Ukraine office Unolaan), Unolaan, 2100 Deurne, on antwerpen.mijnafspraakmaken.be.

The renewal of a non-Belgian Kids-ID is free of charge.
